Fr. Siffredus was born in Tanzania, Africa, into a large family. He studied and worked for a while prior to setting out for the United States to join the seminary.
As it turns out, he attended the same seminary as Father Francesco, Redemptoris Mater, and is also a priest enriched by Neo catechumenal spirituality. Neither of them knew of their appointments to Mt. Virgin until just a few weeks ago. But they expect to be a great team having been friends since 1990.
Fr. Siffredus was ordained in Newark, NJ in 1999. He spent his first three years in St. Joseph of the Palisades in West New York. In 2001 he was sent to serve the Church in Tanzania on two assignments. First, as rector of St. Joseph Cathedral in the diocese of Dar es Salaam for roughly 8 years. This is large parish whose church is a renowned cathedral built by German missionaries in the late 1800s through 1902. Then on to another assignment… the Church of Ugandan Martyrs, in Mago Meni, Tanzania. Father was then called back to the United States in 2015 to serve Our Lady Mother of the Church, in Woodcliff Lake, NJ where he has been parochial vicar for nearly 10 years until his appointment to our parish as of July 6th.
